Singboard Brings Karaoke to the Internet
Ray Chan, Co-Founder and CEO of Singboard, and his partners arrived at 500 Startups with an idea for a photo-sharing app. After initial feedback for the app was luke warm, however, things changed drastically. Based on the fact that, according to Chan, karaoke bars in the U.S. paled in comparison to their native Hong Kong, the team regrouped, came up with a new idea and Singboard was born.

Is Nanosys’ Awesome New Screen Technology Gonna Be In iPad 3?
When Nanosys CEO Jason Hartlove pulled two iPads out of his bag and turned them on one looked like when I first saw my first Kodachrome slide while the other looked muddy and crappy in comparison (I pulled out my own iPad and saw my screen looked muddy and crappy in comparison too). The new one was clear, beautiful, stunning, with richer colors than I had ever seen on a screen before.

Ford demonstrates how Wi-Fi could save your life
Ford, today, showed off a new set of technologies that will enable cars to talk to each other, helping to reduce crashes and maybe help with other things, like help with fuel economy. Here Michael Shulman, technical leader in Ford’s Active Safety Research and Innovation gives us a demo of the tech in a different kind of press conference than I usually attend. GigaOm’s Katie Fehrenbacher gives you the details behind the technology.

Toyota’s Prius V Shows How Smartphones Connect With Cars
I’ve owned a 2010 Toyota Prius since the day it shipped in June 2009 and have put 36,000 miles on it so far, so I’m uniquely able to tell you what’s cool about a new Prius. Last week Toyota invited me to the press’ first look at the new Prius V. Here you see it next to my older Prius.

Testing out the new panoramic iPhone photo apps
OK, Instagram is the hot photo sharing app for the iPhone, right? Sure! But there’s a new set of apps (with a couple more on the way) that do more than Instagram ever could: let you take 360-degree photos.
This weekend I visited Yosemite with my family. A bunch of my photos are up on my Flickr page, and you’ll see the standard fare like this shot of Yosemite Falls:

First Video Look: Awesome New 3D GoPro Camera System
The company closest to my house is GoPro (the headquarters are literally 200 yards from my house) and so when I heard they are shipping a new 3D video camera system, mostly aimed at sports types, tomorrow I had to go over and get the details.
These are the cameras that the Discovery Channel used to stick you inside a shark’s mouth, amongst other things.

A Cool App For Discovering And Sharing Music: Soundtracking
I just bought a new iPad which is a 64GB version. My son said “why did you waste your money?” Well, I told him, on my old iPad I filled up nearly 16gb with just apps and wanted more space so I could hold my music.

How Good Is Flipboard Competitor Zite?
Since Flipboard was named Apple’s favorite iPad app of 2010, lots of startups come along that try to get in on its turf. Tonight one, named Zite, is getting lots of press coverage.
So, how good is it?
Well, for +me+ it actually is better than Flipboard in one sizeable way: it built me a table of contents of different sections automatically after I added my Twitter and Google Reader accounts into it. The sections read: Gadgets, Mac, Programming, Social Media, Technology, Palm, Python, which match the major interests of many of the 32,000 people I’m following on Twitter and the hundreds of feeds I’m following on Google Reader.

Can Yobongo Avoid The “Masses Are Punks” Chat Room Problem?
Let’s say I invite you to a chat with me, you, and Bill Gates. Or Steve Jobs. Or Barack Obama. Or your closest personal friend. You pick one. Wouldn’t that be fun?
Now, lets say we invite in 1,000 random people. Wouldn’t your utility go down? Of course it would.
